When did you last look at the ingredients of your toothpaste, body wash or shampoo? If Sodium Laurel Sulphate (SLS) appears near the top of any where in that list I would seriously think about changing your products! Did you know that in its industrial form SLS is a corrosive and is the main ingredient in garage floor cleaners, engine degreases and car wash soaps. Safety data sheets state that when in contact with SLS:

• wear protective clothing with SLS:
• do not get on skin as material is irritating to mucous membranes and the upper respiratory tract.
• do not inhale

SLS is included in shampoos body washes etc because it is cheap and when mixed with salt it creates a great deal of foam. Because SLS is foreign to the body, the body does not know how to dispose of it so it accumulates and retained in the eyes, brain, heart and liver.
